Mechanical Engineer

A little about me

My name is Faesal Shehab; I graduated from the University of South Florida in December of 2017 with a degree in mechanical engineering. I created this website as an online portfolio and resume to highlight the projects I have worked on. I am very interested in mechanical design and the interaction between mechanical components, electrical or simple computer systems (such as a microcontroller) and manufacturing.

I do amazing things

Strong team collaboration skills. Work closely with team members to achieve engineering goals.

Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

Drafting & Design

Solid command of technologies, tools and best practices in designing mechanical equipment using AutoCAD, SolidWorks and engineering drawings.

Mechanical Engineering Intern, Ametek, Largo, FL

Created work instructions and plans to increase flow of production for the Lloyd instruments LD series. Redesigned parts from AutoCAD to SolidWorks for custom use. Coordinated with Engineering Manager and Director of Operations to create an appropriately scoped project list. addressing immediate business requirements for Ameteks manufacturing processes.

Electrical Engineering Co-Op, Tampa Armature Works, Riverview, FL

Used AutoCAD to create detailed electrical drawings. Documented research for low voltage and high voltage equipment Development with Disney, Siemens and TECO on custom projects Approved Electrical engineering BOMs

Mechanical Engineering Intern Tampa Armature Works, Riverview, FL

Created detail production drawings from part files and simply assembly using CAD. Released Drawing and review Bills of Material (BOM), saving over $10,000 for the company. CNC programming-JETCAM. Created bracket systems to fit the customers’ needs for the project while coordinating with the electrical engineers on the positioning of the electoral components. Created GEO (geometry) files to be used by the manufacturing plant. Tasked in the reversion of 100s of drawings, which was later put in the engineering systems for customer needs. Development with Disney, Siemens and TECO on Custom projects/products costing above $100,000.

What employers say
  • Faesal demonstrates a good attitude, takes direction well, works well with others, and is very reliable. He is a mechanical engineering student but showed an active interest in learning aspects of the engineering department across all disciplines. Able to take a task and research independently but also willing to ask questions when neceasary.
    - Joseph Burnsed, Electrical Designer at Tampa Armature Works

  • Faesal was a pleasure to work with during his fall internship. He was immediately an asset to our own department as an additional resource. I wish him the best of luck on his career moving forward and would highly recommend him for employment in the future.
    - Frank Borcherding, Manufacturing Engineer Manger at Ametek Inc
